I’m Margaret Branch. I have practiced law for over forty years dealing with car accidents and medical malpractice. I am definitely a car accident attorney.
I have personally been in three car accidents in my life.
The first car accident involved a drunk driver who was going the wrong way on an exit ramp on to a freeway into on-coming traffic. We were able to miss the collision by jumping over the exit ramp onto the street below. It was a miracle that we survived.
The second car accident involved a taxi in Boston who rear-ended another car and caused the car accident. I suffered soft tissue injuries in that car accident.
The third car accident involved a semi-truck which rear-ended us on I-40. Even though I suffered significant neck injuries, I did not take the time to seek treatment for the injuries received in that car accident.
As a result of not receiving treatment from my third car accident, I developed a condition called cervical dystonia. Cervical dystonia is a painful condition in which your neck muscles contract involuntarily, causing your head to twist or turn to one side. Cervical dystonia can also cause your head to uncontrollably tilt forward or backward. This is a condition which causes tremors of the neck. As a result of the cervical dystonia, caused by the third car accident, I had to have brain surgery at Cleveland Clinic. Had I received medical treatment immediately after each of my three car accidents, I probably would not have suffered cervical dystonia, and thus would not have had to undergo brain surgery. All could have been avoided if I had sought immediate medical treatment after each of the car accidents.
